Sisters Helping Sisters in Christ Ministry is a Mentoring Ministry. We mentor one another through Bible Study, Education, Counseling, Life Skills, Hiking, Music, Drama and Fellowship.
Bible Study is an important part of SHSIC Ministry. We learn biblical concepts to every day life situations through the amazing stories in the Bible. We use the many levels of God's biblical counseling to encourage one another and build each other up; we carry each others burdens when life get hard. The time we spend together in Bible Study builds relationships. Our Bible Study sessions will be held every 2nd Saturday in the month, starting in September and ending in June from 2:30 - 4:30. All are welcome.
(Due to COVID-19, our Bible Study Lessons will be online and through ZOOM.)

In this Drama program, we learn from each other; inspire one another and encourage each other in the Lord, as we are encouraged by God's Holy Spirit.
We start with a drama presentation followed by a lively discussion. As we mentor, teach, and pray; we see new possibilities and the power of the Holy Spirit at work, not only in our lives but in the lives of others.
Each session is moderated by Dr. Karoline Bethea-Jones. Dr. Karoline has been teaching and facilitating biblical classes and discussions for nearly twenty five years. She encourages mentoring and fellowship. She gives personalized attention to every woman and is a mentor to all.
If you are interested in becoming part of this very special mentoring ministry, please contact Dr. Karoline Bethea-Jones, at shsicministry@gmail.com.
(Due to COVID-19, our drama presentations will be recorded on video)
Our Podcast episodes will discuss everything from Religion to Social Justice. Everything that is deemed important for you to know. Consider us an information station where we discuss real topics, from real people, that affect our lives.
We will have guest speakers and you can send us questions and situations that you would like for us to discuss, and we will discuss that too.
Please send all topic questions and discussion points to shsicministry@gmail.com
Outdoor activities are very important for a woman. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that adults perform at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of intense activity every week. Sisters Helping Sisters in Christ Ministry understand the importance of, not only taking care of your spirit but taking care of your mind and body also.
That is why we offer outdoor
activities such as hiking. Through our Sister Program, Hikeolution, we hope to
inspire women to leave the house and become one with God and Nature. Hiking is
a healthy social activity. You get to spend time with each other in a group as
you work on your health through walking.
If you like adventure, walking in the woods will give you the opportunity to explore nature and take pictures of the wildlife. Hiking allows you to exercise the way you like and stay fit at your own pace. Hiking helps clear your mind and give you opportunities to meditate and breathe in the fresh air. Oxygen is an important part of the body, especially for the brain. When you breathe, the heart pumps some of the air into the brain for normal functions, helping you to concentrate, making you more creative.
Hiking helps you alleviate stress. Stress is not good for you. It causes a lot of health problems. Hiking takes away stress and may even add to your life. That's why we added hiking to our program. Through this program we will hike on a regular basis, leaving all of our stress in the woods, and adopting a positive attitude about ourselves and others.
HIKEOLUTION aims to introduce the joys of walking in the woods by providing exceptional hiking adventures that promote camaraderie, build physical strength, teach reverence for nature and spark inner peace. Our Hike Leader Keyana Jones is thrilled to be taking this newfound love to the next level and has lots in store for you. We invite you to become part of this exciting Ministry.
We meet on the fourth Saturday of the month from 10:00am - 12:30pm in different hiking locations. For information on the locations or to be added to our mailing list, send inquiry to shsicministry@gmail.com
Engaging in community service is the perfect opportunity to become active members of our community and has a lasting, positive impact on the lives of the women who participate. Community service or volunteerism enables women to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most. Volunteering may help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
Sisters Helping Sisters in Christ Ministry is always looking for Community Service opportunities in Bergen, Essex, and Union County. Please contact us at shsicministry@gmail.com.
